Ecosystem Return Foundation (ERF) is an international organization established to restore degraded landscapes worldwide, with the aim to deliver social, natural, financial and inspirational returns.

The role of the Ecosystem Return Foundation is that of an independent matchmaker between landowners, companies, investors and local organisations, to develop successful restoration partnerships.

ERF aims to restore 150 million hectares of degraded ecosystems in the next 20 years, in line with international agreements, including the Bonn Challenge, UN conventions and Action 2020 of the World Business Council of Sustainable Development.

ERF was founded by IUCN’s Commission on Ecosystem Management and the Rotterdam School of Management of Erasmus University. Read more about ERF’s 4 Returns, 3 Zones approach.
